New art on the trail
New sculpture art has been added along the three locations that make up the Yokna Sculpture Trail.
Seven new pieces were unveiled in April at the Powerhouse Sculpture Garden on University Avenue, Rebel Sculpture Park in front of Meek Hall on the University of Mississippi campus and Pat Lamar Park.
There are now 18 large-scale sculptures created by local, regional and national artists along the trail, which is a collaboration between the city of Oxford, the University of Mississippi and the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council.
The outdoor sculpture program is the first such collaboration in North Mississippi and brings together both the artistic culture and green spaces in Oxford.
