The Oxford School District on Monday night banned drones from any school property in the district.
Some language in its proposed policy was amended, specifically in the term “banished” when discussing the punishment for violators. Language in the policy reads:
“Understanding that airborne UAS/drones pose a safety hazard, the Oxford School District forbids anyone from flying a drone or any remote-controlled aircraft in the skies over any of its school campuses or school properties, including, but not limited to individual schools within the district, football stadiums, and athletic fields without authorization from the superintendent or his/her designee and if necessary the FAA.”
