John E. Ross

John E. Ross passed away peacefully on June 4, 2016, at Vanderbilt University Hospital at age 72, surrounded by a family who loved him.
His wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned. Taylor Funeral Home of Dickson, Tennessee, is in charge of the arrangements.
Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, he and had retired in Gulfport. He retired from the Veteran’s Administration where he served as the comptroller for the Veteran’s Hospital Canteen Services.
Although John was a graduate of the University of Memphis, he was a lifelong, devoted fan of the Ole Miss Rebels, having attended 399-straight Ole Miss Football games. Only death could keep him from making number 400. “Hotty Toddy.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.E. Ross and Florence Ross of Memphis.
He is survived by two brothers, Phil Ross (Brenda) of Cunningham, Tennessee and Bobby Ross (Marcy) of Memphis; three nephews, Tim Ross, Adam Ross, Matthew Ross, and two great nephews, Aidan Ross and Rylan Ross.
