New hotel another good growth sign

Oxford’s growth is no secret. Construction in most every direction is easy to see.
But there’s good news in much of the growth: our quality is expanding in many areas as well.
The recent announcement by Oxford’s Charter Road Hospitality that the company plans to open a Tru by Hilton hotel in the Oxford Commons area is a good example.
The Tru by Hilton hotel brand is entirely new, and Oxford is just the third site to be announced (others are in the Oklahoma City and McDonough, Georgia in the Atlanta metro area).
The brand is a hip, millennials-focused property that features more Wi-Fi bandwidth than guests typically find at competitive properties, open public spaces, and mobile check-in.
It will be the latest addition to more quality hotel rooms that help Oxford become a destination to be reckoned with today and in the years to come.
The announcement is also good for the Oxford Commons area, which continues to develop as a vital multi-use property. The city’s development beyond Jackson Avenue and the Square are vital to a healthy future, after all.
So it’s good to see continued investment in Oxford Commons by CRH, which already has two hotel properties there.
And, it’s good to see positive growth continuing in the city.
