OXFORD — Irene Green, 96, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Oxford Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley with burial in the Pine Flat Cemetery in Lafayette County. Seven Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She graduated Taylor High School as valedictorian of her class and worked for several years at Blaylock Drugs in Oxford. She was an active member of Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church and enjoyed reading.

She outlived all of her siblings and close relatives, but is survived by her cousin, Delain Green and his wife, Nell, of Lafayette County.
