Ole Miss-Memphis network designation delayed by World Cup of Hockey

Approximately 60,000 fans will file into Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday to watch No. 16 Ole Miss take on Memphis in the final game of the Rebels’ four-game homestand.

But fans who will watch it on TV still don’t know which network will carry it. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.

That’s because the network has yet to be announced, and that’s because of the World Cup of Hockey. The game will be carried on ESPN2 or an SEC Network alternate channel depending on the schedule of the World Cup of Hockey best-of-three Final between Team Canada and Team Europe.

A third game of the Final if needed would be played Saturday at the same time and would be televised on ESPN2, bumping the Ole Miss-Memphis game to the SEC alternate channel. If a third game isn’t necessary, ESPN2 will pick up the football game.

Fans will know Thursday night which it will be. Game 1 of the World Cup Final will be played Tuesday at 7 p.m. on ESPN with Game 2 set for Thursday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.

Anish Shroff and Ahmad Brooks will be on the broadcast for the Ole Miss-Memphis game, it was announced Monday. It will be the Rebels’ first night game at home this season.
