MaxxSouth Internet service down in Oxford, Water Valley, Abbeville

*Update: According to MaxxSouth service has been restored and internet was out for about two hours.

“MaxxSouth Broadband is a community-driven organization that puts customer needs and customer satisfaction at a top priority. Of course, we do experience some system failures and we apologize for the inconveniences those cause. This morning we experienced an Internet outage driven by hardware failure which, but it was back on in just 2 hours. When these situations happen our team works diligently to fix the problem as soon as possible. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.” — in a written statement from MaxxSouth.

 

Much of Oxford and the surrounding area came to a digital crawl this morning when Internet service from local provider MaxxSouth Broadband went down. Cable television services were not out, according to MaxxSouth.

The company is aware of the issue, but it has been out for hours in Oxford service areas including Abbeville and Water Valley.

MaxxSouth had a recorded message on its 800 service number Thursday morning saying that “MaxxSouth Broadband is currently experience an outage in the Oxford, Abbeville and Water Valley areas. We have a technician in route to address the issues.”
