The Oxford Middle School had a transformer blow around 9:20 a.m. this morning, according to school officials.
Classes are currently taking place even though the electricity in the building is currently off, officials said in a release.
The Oxford Fire Department was immediately called to the school to assess the situation. Since there was not a threat to students, faculty or staff, no evacuation was necessary. Oxford School District staff is working with the City of Oxford Electric Department to replace the transformer that blew.
