Fingerprints lead to burglary arrest

The Oxford Police Department has charged a Tchula man with burglary for allegedly breaking into a home at Edinburgh Place in March.
According to reports, the resident of the burglarized home had several items stolen including a knife that was pawned at USA Pawn Woodrow in Jackson by Travis Williams, 22, of Tchula. Investigators also found a knife at the scene of the burglary that was sent to the crime lab. Williams’ fingerprints were found on the knife.
A warrant was issued for Williams and he was arrested in Madison and sent back to Oxford where he was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $5,000 bond.
