Orvil Dickey

OXFORD — Orvil “Mr. Doke” Dickey, 92, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at the Mississippi Veteran’s Home in Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Liberty Cemetery in Calhoun County. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at Seven Oaks Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Syble Sutherland Dickey; brother Talmadge Dickey and sisters U.V. Morgan and Birdie Morris.
He is survived by daughter Janice Sharp of Water Valley; sons Grady L. Dickey of South Lake, Texas and Steve Dickey of Water Valley; sisters Flauline Malone of West Memphis, Arkansas and Nilda Morris of Southaven; seven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
