Yanbo Li, 53, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at her home in Oxford. Visitation will take place Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home. No formal services are planned at this time.

Born in Chengjiang, Yunnan, China to Huai Li and Huixian Yang, Mrs. Li was a homemaker. She was married in 1986 to Guoyi Ma, whom she had known for 47 years since elementary school. She had previously worked as an engineer at Kunming Construction Company in Yunnan, China. She found great enjoyment in creating clothing. In 1996, she moved to Australia to join her husband who was studying at Sydney University. In 2002, they moved to Oxford for her husband to assume a research scientist position at the University of Mississippi where he does testing on natural products with the School of Pharmacy.

Survivors include her husband, Guoyi Ma of Oxford; her son, Charles Ma and his wife, Chuanxin of San Francisco, California; her parents, Huai Li and Huixan Yang of Yunnan, China; her sisters, Libo Li and Yanhong Li of Yunnan, China and her brothers, Jinming Li and Jinyong Li of Yunnan, China.
