Funeral services for Helen Spencer Lovett, 86, of Decatur will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at Boone-Card Funeral Home, Indianola. She died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, at her home. Burial will be in Roundaway Cemetery under the direction of Boone-Card Funeral Home.
Mrs.Lovett was born March 22, 1930 in Moorhead. She was the eldest of three children born to CT and Ann Spencer. In 1948 she married John Lovett. Together they had four children, two boys and two girls. Over the next 57 years she and John lived many different places, and in each one she volunteered with the local children. She also completed nursing school, but since funds were tight raising four children, she was not able to afford her nursing license before the school went out of business. One other thing Mrs. Lovett really enjoyed doing, was working in her yard. She always had beautiful flowers that she was so proud of.
In 2006, a year after Mr. Lovett passed away, Mrs. Lovett moved to Decatur. She was a member of Clarke Venable Baptist Church.
