Shop local has long been a cry in strong communities.

But for Oxford doing all of your shopping here wasn’t always easy because our small city did not have everything.

Times have changed, however. Our small business environment is healthier than ever before. Our big retail environment is bigger than ever before.

So back in the day, when drives to Memphis and Tupelo seemed the only option for some items, we now have many options.  And retailers that invest in making Oxford their home would love to see you shop at home this holiday season.

We will publish a newspaper Thanksgiving Day and many advertisers are promoting Black Friday deals they have in store.  Check them out.

Small Business Saturday continues the next day and from the Oxford Square and beyond stores have gifts from all price points and appealing to all ages.

We hope you will consider doing more Oxford shopping this holiday season and keep dollars at home. And when you visit a local retailer to make gift purchases don’t be shy about saying thank you to the retailer for being a part of our community.
