Ole Miss was represented by three players on this year’s All-Southeastern Conference Freshman team.
Receiver Van Jefferson, offensive tackle Greg Little and cornerback Jaylon Jones were named to the team Thursday. The team was voted on by the league’s 14 head coaches, none of which were allowed to vote for their own players.
Jefferson, a redshirt freshman, took over in the slot this season with Quincy Adeboyejo moving outside and was second on the team with 49 receptions while ranking second among all SEC freshmen with 4.1 catches per game. The Brentwood, Tennessee native finished with 543 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
The nation’s consensus top-ranked offensive tackle coming out of high school, Little played in all 12 games this season while starting the last five. The 6-foot-6, 320-pound Little helped Ole Miss average 464.3 yards and 32.6 points per game.
Jones also played in every game and made one start against Vanderbilt. The 5-11, 177-pound Texas native finished with 26 tackles and tied for the team lead with five pass breakups.
