Mrs. Ozie Lee Cromwell Thweatt, age 94, died Friday, December 16, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford, MS. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 18, 2016 in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Stoney Moorhead and Rev. Don Locke officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M.
Born in Oxford, MS to the late Harvey and Allie Kinney Cromwell, Mrs. Thweatt retired as a secretary from Oxford Insurance Agency. She was a member of South Oxford Methodist Church where she formerly served as church treasurer. Mrs. Ozie was a member of the Eastern Star and the oldest living member of the Oxford Methodist Campground. She enjoyed making afghans and scarves for her family, reading and flower gardening. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Elvin Thweatt and sister, Ruby Gean.
Mrs. Thweatt is survived by two daughters, Patricia T. Watts and her husband, Tommy, and Susan T. Polley; four grandchildren, Gina Cheney, Sandra Lee Ales, Michelle K. Lynch, and David Arthur Watts; five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild all of Oxford, MS.
