Ole Miss women’s basketball bounce back

The Tennessee women’s basketball team this year is not the same Tennessee women’s basketball team that was dominating the sport years ago.
But let’s not dampen the moment of what it feels like to beat Tennessee for the first time in 21 years.
Much like Alabama used to dominate Ole Miss in football, the Tennessee women’s basketball team has dominated the Rebels. Two decades is a long time to line up every year and lose.
That all changed this week, however, when the Ole Miss women knocked off Tennessee at The Pavilion by the score of 67-61. It was a 12th straight win at home for the Rebels, a team that is showing this season that it has some talent and grit under head coach Matt Insell.
Next week will bring a new set of challenges as Ole Miss faces No. 4 Mississippi State and No. 5 South Carolina on the road in consecutive games. But this week Ole Miss claimed a 13th win of the season, beating Tennessee for the first time in 21 years.
Congrats to the Ole Miss women’s program making a different notch in the history book and taking aim on a successful season.
