Coach Bobby Lee Sanders, 85, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, in Oxford. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Barksdale officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Toccopola, to the late Hal E. and Myrtice Pruitt Sanders, Mr. Sanders was a retired coach and educator. He was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Sanders.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Sanders of Oxford; a daughter, Teresa Sanders of Oxford; a son, Bobby Sanders and his wife, Dena of Oxford; brother, Bradley Sanders and his wife, Elizabeth of Madison; two grandchildren, Jenny Sanders of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Blake Sanders of Oxford, and several nieces and nephews.
