Oxford’s AK Sanford helps create Super Bowl commerical Avocados from Mexico

Oxford has a star in tonight’s Super Bowl 51 between Atlanta and New England, though her work is playing during breaks in the football action and she’s likely watching on TV like everybody else.
Oxford’s Anna Kathryn Sanford is one of the creative talents behind the Avocados from Mexico ads running during the Super Bowl (see the commercial below). The ad was created by Austin’s ad agency GDS&M, where Sanford is art director. It ran during the first quarter of tonight’s Super Bowl.
The daughter of Dr. Doug and Terri Sanford of Oxford, Sanford joined GDS&M in 2016 and has been working on the Avocados from Mexico account, helping create the ads running in tonight’s Super Bowl 2017.
A 2009 graduate of Oxford High School and the University of Georgia in 2013, Sanford lived in Raleigh, North Carolina before taking the job at GDS&M last year. She worked on the Krispy Kreme creative team.
Sanford has won creative awards for her work with student spec ads on accounts including Dales Pale Ale, Krispy Kreme and Skull Candy.
The Avocados from Mexico ads with Super Bowl airtime use humor and the theme of a secret society meeting of robed members to focus on health benefits of the advocado.
