Expecting a great Double Decker Fest
Oxford’s signature Double Decker Arts Festival is shaping up this year to be another winner.
Festival organizers announced music headline acts for 2017 this week and they are another powerful lineup with Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats and blues legend Dr. John (with his band the Nite Trippers) scheduled for the 22nd Annual Double Decker Arts Festival.
Attracting crowds over two days that total more than 65,000, the Double Decker festival has become synonymous with Oxford, and that’s a good thing. Scheduled this year for April 28-29, the Double Decker Festival celebrates the best of Oxford in a manner than has something for everyone, from young to old.
The music headline acts are always a main attraction, however, and this year festival organizers got it right. Dr. John is a legend, and while he’s in his 70s, he can still bring a powerful New Orleans curated show to the stage. Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats will bring his folksy, blues style to Oxford in the other main act show that aficionados will find delightful.
We look forward to another successful Double Decker Festival and are proud of the vision that organizers have to continue making this annual event in Oxford something we all look forward to.
