New pieces of sculptured art are popping up on the Yokna Sculpture Trail. Eleven pieces are being replaced on the trail, which contains 17 sculptures.
The outdoor trail, which includes Pat Lamar Park, the Powerhouse Sculpture Garden, the Rebel Sculpture Park on the University of Mississippi campus and the University of Mississippi Museum, is updated every two years with new art pieces. The current sculptures will be part of the trail until March 1, 2019.
Wayne Andrews, the director of the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council and one of the co-founders of the outdoor trail three years ago, said that the sculpture trail is important to the larger Lafayette County arts scene.
