Samuel Thomas Hall, 77, died, Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 5, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Oxford-University United Methodist Church with Rev. Eddie Rester and Rev. Warren Black officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home also on Friday, May 5, 2017, from 11:30 – 1:30 p.m.
Born in Murphey, North Carolina to the late Paul Houston and Marion Carnes Hall, Mr. Hall was a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the United States Marine Corps. He was a graduate of Memphis State University and received his Master’s from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He was a member of Oxford-University United Methodist Church. Mr. Hall worked in the executive office for Naval ROTC at the University of Mississippi. He served as the Director of Finance for the National Center for Physical Acoustics and Head of Miltec in the acoustic lab. He was also the Radiance Tech in Oxford. He served on the Mississippi State Personnel Board for a number of years and as the Chairman of the Lafayette County Republican Party.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Justin Thomas Hall.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Brown Hall of Oxford; daughter, Jennifer Olivia Hall of Oxford, and a brother, Charles H. Hall of Ocean Side, California.

In honor of Mr. Hall’s service to our country, the flag of the United States Marines will be flown at Waller Funeral Home.
