Time again to celebrate Ole Miss grads

The school year’s come and go so fast but it is always hard to believe that another Ole Miss graduation has arrived.
It seems like yesterday that a new freshman class rolled into town in the hot days of August. Now, many who began that journey years before will be receiving well-earned degrees.
We always enjoy graduation in Oxford, since it is a quieter time for families and students to celebrate together, reflecting on achievements and what’s to come.
Ole Miss will welcome Pulitzer-Prize winning author and presidential historian Jon Meacham to campus to give the spring commencement address in the Grove on Saturday at 9 a.m.
A native of Chattanooga and graduate of the University of the South at Sewanee, we have always enjoyed the intelligence that Mr. Meacham has displayed as an observer of history, politics, race and religion.
With graduation events beginning Friday and continuing throughout the day Saturday, Ole Miss and Oxford will be busy hosting families and celebrating achievements we look forward to celebrating another spring graduating classes.
Summer school will begin soon after that but we enjoy the quieter days in town with smaller attendance before the next freshman class arrives, bringing our campus back to life.
