Ole Miss has advanced to the SEC Softball Tournament Championship for the first time ever.
The Rebels defeated Alabama today 4-1 and will play in the SEC Championship game tonight.
SEC Softball Tournament Championship game time: 7 p.m. central/8 p.m. eastern.
TV channel: ESPN.
The Rebels will play the winner of the other semifinal, between No. 2-seed Auburn and No. 6 seed LSU.
From SEC Country: “The No. 8-seed Rebels (39-18) reached the championship game of the SEC Softball Tournament for the first time in the event’s 21-year history, and they took no shortcuts.
Ole Miss knocked off traditional powerhouse Alabama by a 4-1 count, its offense as scrappy and determined as their star junior college transfer, pitcher Kaitlin Lee (19-10).
The Rebels scored three runs in the third inning despite having just two singles reach the outfield, manufacturing runs with crafty base running against the No. 5-seeded Crimson Tide (42-16).”
