Estelle Houston Kiger, 92, died at her home in Oxford, on Saturday, May 20, 2017. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at 10 am. at Mt. Zion Church in Oxford, with the Rev. Brad Burnett Officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 a.m. until service time.

Born to the late William C. and Annie Lucille Samples Houston, Mrs. Kiger was a member of Mt. Zion Church. She enjoyed volunteering for poll duty at every election. Estelle enjoyed gardening and cooking but loving on her friends and neighbors would be her most memorable character trait. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 25 years, Woodrow J. Latvala.

Mrs. Kiger is survived by her husband of 42 years, John H. Kiger of Oxford; two sons, Michael Latvala of Oxford and Jack Latvala and his wife, Connie, of Clearwater, Florida; two grandchildren, Christopher Latvala of Clearwater, Florida and Stephanie Latvala Courson and her husband, Jim, of Acworth, Georgia; and two great-grandchildren, Blake and Sydni Courson of Acworth, Georgia.
