It’s almost time for Oxford’s can’t-miss summer party and a limited amount of free tickets are available to the public.

Oxford Magazine’s inaugural Best of Oxford celebration, presented by Oxford University Bank, kicks off at 6 p.m. June 15 at The Lyric, featuring a night of the best local food, drinks, music and many of the city’s winning businesses on hand to celebrate.

Best of Oxford celebrates the many excellent businesses that serve our community. Winners of Best of Oxford 2017 will be announced and copies of the June issue of Oxford Magazine featuring many of the winners will be provided free at the event.

“Oxford is one of the greatest small cities in America and is growing faster than ever before,” said Alex McDaniel, editor in chief of The Oxford Eagle and Oxford Magazine. “As we grow, we don’t want to lose sight of the fact that it’s the city’s strong sense of community that makes this place so special. This event celebrates the local businesses and business owners who’ve made this place into the Oxford we know and love.”

Public voting conducted earlier this spring determined the readers’ choice Best of Oxford winners. This year, an additional “Editors’ Picks” selection list is included. The full list of winners will be available at the June 15 party at The Lyric with two grand-prize awards revealed that night for Best Business and Best New Business.

The first 300 through the doors will get a swag bag with local treats and each bag will have a raffle ticket for giveaways of gift cards at 7:45 p.m.

The night includes food tastings by Saint Leo, McEwen’s, My Michelle’s, Main Event Catering, Chicken Salad Chick and many others, along with beer tastings from Jackson Beer Company and music provided by Oxford’s own George McConnell. The first-ever Best of Oxford celebration event presented by Oxford University Bank promises to be a must-attend event of the summer.

Best of Oxford will be held at The Lyric from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. There are a limited amount of tickets available to the public and they can be obtained by emailing subscriptions@oxfordmag.com or calling 662-234-4331. Dress is casual and cash bars will be open.
