Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi and Ole Miss committed to community

Talk about a win, win, win — the Ole Miss purchase of the existing Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi property benefits all community stakeholders.
It only makes sense, after all. But, making sense isn’t always enough in government and business. Even the wisest ideas require community-minded leaders to see them through.
So we want to pause and give well-earned applause to both Baptist and Ole Miss for working together to make the right deal for Oxford and Lafayette County.
Consider only that Ole Miss needs the room to grow, and building a facility the size of the Baptist property would cost far more than the $22 million purchase price. And, consider that community-minded Baptist needed to sell its property to the right partner.
Now, we have BMH-NM nearing a move later this year to its shining new facility, Ole Miss solving many of its growth needs, and City of Oxford and Lafayette County officials smiling broadly because everything fits so perfectly.
We’re proud of our leaders at Baptist, Ole Miss, Lafayette County and Oxford for committed efforts to help healthcare and education flourish in the community. And, we’re glad to see the commitment between Baptist and Ole Miss to create a winning formula for all.
