Mrs. Betty L. Moore, 89, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, at her home in Oxford.

Mrs. Moore was born in Greenwood.  She was one of the first members of the Chi Omega Sorority at the University of Arkansas.  Also, she helped organize the nonprofit group, Interfaith Compassion Ministry.  Mrs. Moore was a proud member of the Oxford University United Methodist Church.  She loved the small things in life such as the game of bridge, baseball (especially her Atlanta Braves), and her cat Beau.

She is survived by two sons, Ed (Amy) Moore and Jim Moore, both of Oxford; two grandsons, Seth Moore and Evan Moore, both of Oxford; and one granddaughter, Lynnley Moore of Oxford.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Moore, and her parents, Edgar Lawrence and Sue Wilson Lawrence.

The family will be holding a private memorial service at a later date.
