Joan Helm Mooney, age 85, passed away at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS on August 19, 2017.  She was born in Coffeeville, MS to the late Eldon Helm and Ethel Langham Helm, and worked at Big Yank in Water Valley until her retirement.  She was an active member of O’Tuckolofa Baptist Church where she was affectionately known as “the peppermint lady” by the children of the church.  She was quite a cook and loved to go fishing when her health permitted.  She considered her church to be her family and was loved by the membership there.
