13 arrested in prostitution investigation
The Oxford Police Department, along with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, local FBI office, Homeland Security Investigations Division and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and Metro Narcotics, conducted an operation recently in Oxford to identify and stop prostitution within the city limits.
During the operation, investigators made one arrest for prostitution and 12 people for procuring prostitution.
All charges are misdemeanor crimes. Those arrested were booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center.
