*UPDATE* Ole Miss police looking for man displaying firearm on campus

*UPDATE* According to UPD, the video was filmed by comedian Amos Brazan who was touring the campus while in Oxford for his upcoming show Thursday at The Lyric. During the Facebook Live filming, a man walked up behind Brazen and brandished a firearm.

According to Ray Hawkins with UPD, investigators believe they have identified the man who pulled out the firearm but have not yet made contact with him as of noon today (Wednesday).

No arrests have been made; however, Hawkins said the man could face a charge of brandishing a weapon on a college campus.

The University of Mississippi is investigating reports of a male subject displaying a firearm around the Kennon Observatory on Monday.

UPD was notified about the incident that occurred around 3 p.m. after being sent photos and a video. After an initial investigation, some of the parties in the video have been identified; however, UPD is asking the public to help identify one of the men in the video who is wearing a white T-shirt and displaying a fireman.

Anyone with information is asked to call UPD at 662-915-7234.

UPD is aware of the reports of a subject on campus displaying a firearm around Kennon Observatory on August 28th, 2017 (8-28-17) around 3:00 p.m. UPD was notified of pictures/video on the internet, investigated, and identified some of the parties in the video. If anyone knows the identity of the subject in the all white t-shirt displaying the firearm, please contact UPD at 662-915-7234.
