Oxford High to make repairs, renovations to gym floor

The Oxford High gym will be getting a facelift before basketball season begins.
Some repairs are having to be made after installation of holes for volleyball practice nets caused damage to areas around the baseline and center court. Oxford is using the opportunity to put a new paint scheme on the hardwood.
The plan is to have all the repairs and renovations to the court finished in time for basketball season, but those repairs have yet to begin. School officials don’t know the cost of the repairs at this time.
The volleyball regular season will run through early October and there is potential for the Chargers to host an early-round playoff match.
Oxford’s first home basketball games are currently set for Nov. 7. Depending on what is needed to be done and length of the process it could force some rearranging of the Chargers’ schedule early in the season.
