John Roy Brinson, 92, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford, MS. A private family memorial service is planned for Monday, Sept. 11, 2017. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Oxford, MS, to the late John Roy and Fannie Cooper Brinson, Mr. Brinson was a member of Oxford-University United Methodist Church and the SAE fraternity at the University of Mississippi.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Graves Brinson of Oxford, MS; daughter, Beth Bryson, (Miles), of Somerville, TN; son, John Brinson, (Martha), of Eugene, OR; three grandchildren, Zach, (Christin) Bryson, Bailie Bryson; Cooper, (Annie), Brinson and one great-grandchild, Miles Marie Bryson.
