Stephen Metz

Mr. Stephen Metz, 61, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford. A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at 6 p.m., immediately following the visitation, also at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Metz was born in Canandaigua, N.Y. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Manchester, N.Y. Mr. Metz loved many things. He was described as an avid outdoorsman. He loved nothing more than his wife, children, and grandchildren. The best way to describe Mr. Metz is that he was an amazing family man.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Brewer Metz of Oxford, Miss.; two daughters, Valerie (Mike) Gladstone of Shortsville, N.Y., and Brandy (Bruce) Miller of Barnstead, N.H.; two sons, Justin (Lindsey) Sneed of Oxford, Miss. and Matt (Maria) Metz of Geneva, N.Y.; five brothers, Charles (Linda) Metz of Leicester, N.Y., James (Dolores) Metz of Canandaigua, John (Cindi) Metz and Edward Metz, both of Bloomfield, N.Y., and Paul (Melody) Metz of Shortsville, N.Y; two sisters, Jo Metz (Art) Buchinger of Mount Morris, N.Y., and Sharon Metz (Harold) Fox of Naples, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Dean Metz and Doris Marie Metz; and one brother, Kenneth R. Metz.
