Nancy Renell Jones Babb, 79, died Oct. 21, 2017, at her home in Lafayette County, Miss. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Buster Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Paris Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Born in Crenshaw, Miss, to the late Leonard and Troy Rowe Jones, Mrs. Babb was retired from Whirlpool where she worked as an inspector. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society. Along with her love of gardening, she loved to sing and participated in the choir and taught Sunday School at Paris Baptist Church. Additionally, she loved to cook and host her family every Sunday and on holidays. Mrs. Babb greatly adored her children and grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mitchell Jones.

Survivors include her husband of almost 61 years, Earl Babb of Paris, Miss; daughter, Michelle Powell and her husband, Stephen of Southaven, Miss; sons, Rickey Babb and his wife, Becky of Oxford, Miss, Mickey Babb and his wife, Tiffany of Oxford, Miss and Anthony “Tony” Babb of Oxford, Miss; sisters, Dorothy Jean Carr of Arkansas and Helen Jones; brothers, Harold Jones of Georgia, James Albert “Butch” Jones of Arkabutla, Miss and Charles Jones of Senatobia, Miss; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
