Roy Lee Groner, 77, passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, surrounded by his family. The funeral service will be held Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Anchor Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Shook and Dr. Scott Kellum officiating. Burial will follow in the Coffeeville City Cemetery. Visitation was scheduled for Sunday evening, Nov. 5, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home.
Mr. Groner worked 32 years for Napa Auto Parts and later for North Mississippi Conveyer. He was a member of Anchor Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Chairman of Ushers for 30 years. One of his greatest pleasures was on Sunday. He met and had prayer with the ushers, handed out bulletins and welcomed everyone to church. Mr. Groner was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Icy Groner and an infant son, Artie.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Connie Groner of Water Valley, Miss; two daughters, Cathy (Scott) Kellum of Zebulon, N.C. and Carolyn (Tim) Bridges of Oxford, Miss; sister, Mary (Bill) Sullivan, six grandchildren, Hannah, Josh, Rachel and Eli Kellum of Zebulon, NC and Morgan and Drew Bridges of Oxford, Miss.
