Mrs. Maudene Cook McCain, 86, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi. The funeral service will be Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with graveside service to follow at Pine Flat Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home.
Mrs. McCain retired from the United States Department of Agriculture-ASCS office where she worked as a clerk for many years. A lifetime member of Anchor Baptist Church, she was a talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting, gardening and cooking for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Linder McCain, Sr.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet M. Booth and her husband, Damon of Georgetown, Ky.; two sons, Robert L. “Bobby” McCain and his wife, Sidney of Water Valley, Miss. and Thomas D. “Tommy” McCain and his wife, Annie of Water Valley, Miss.; seven grandchildren, Robby McCain, Mary McCain, Leigh Anderson, Wesley McCain, Randle McCain, Clay Booth and Madison Booth and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Grace McCain, Annabelle Faith McCain and John Asher Young.Memorial contributions in Mrs. McCain’s memory may be made to Anchor Baptist Church Building Fund, 1009 Hwy 7 South, Water Valley, MS 38965 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
