Lamar sworn in as U.S. Attorney for Northern District of Mississippi

Chad Lamar was sworn in as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Mississippi by Chief U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock during a brief ceremony Wednesday morning.
Lamar had been an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District since 1991.
The Oxford native earned degrees from Millsaps College, the University of Mississippi School of Law and the Boston University School of Law.
Lamar was approved by the U.S. Senate earlier this month and President Trump signed the paperwork making Lamar’s appointment official on Monday.
Sen. Roger Wicker and Sen. Thad Cochran both recommended Lamar to Trump.
