District Court judge recovering from heart attack
U.S. District Court Judge Michael P. Mills is recovering after suffering a heart attack earlier this week.
According to an announcement Friday by the U.S. District Court, a number of proceedings involving Mills that were scheduled over the next three weeks have been continued.
Mills is scheduled to be released from Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi on Friday; however, additional surgeries may be required as physicians monitor the best approach for Mills’ medical needs.
“Judge Mills and his family thank the many friends and attorneys who have expressed concern,” states a press release Friday. “The Judge wants everyone to know that he will be back on the bench as soon as he has clearance to do so from his doctors.”
