Ole Miss and Georgia will finish their baseball series this weekend a day early.
With the threat of inclement weather in Oxford on Sunday, the teams will now play a doubleheader Saturday starting at 1:30 p.m. at Oxford-University Stadium. The second game will start 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first.
Today’s series opener is still set for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.
It’s the third straight weekend doubleheader for the 11th-ranked Rebels (30-8, 8-7 SEC), who are looking to bounce back from two straight SEC series losses following a doubleheader loss to Vanderbilt last Sunday. Ole Miss snapped its only losing streak of the season with a midweek win over Arkansas State.
No. 23 Georgia (26-11, 9-6) has also dropped its last two weekend series, both to ranked teams (No. 10 Vanderbilt and No. 6 Kentucky).
