Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi has been recognized as one of the top 10 percent of hospitals in the country for patient safety, earning the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award.

Healthgrades, an organization which is designed to facilitate strong connections between healthcare providers and patients, uses its Patient Safety Excellence award to recognize hospitals for their performance in keeping patients safe and healthy during their hospital stay.

“This award is a testament to our team’s dedication to providing top-notch patient care,” Bill Henning, CEO and administrator of the hospital, said in a news release. “I am so proud to work among such a compassionate and highly skilled group of professionals.”

Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi won the award out of 500 other hospitals nationwide, which are part of the Healthgrades network. Through the organization’s website, http://healthgrades.com, patients can find and schedule appointments, as well as find a provider of their choice.

The Patient Safety Excellence Award is one of the first Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi has won since moving into its new five-story, 600,000 square-foot facility on Belk Boulevard in November 2017. The 217-bed hospital offers a variety of services, including cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, home care and hospice and a 24-hour emergency room. Moving into the new facility has allowed the hospital to provide a larger emergency department, more advanced technology, and larger rooms for patients and their families.

Since the hospital became affiliated with the Baptist Memorial Health Care system in 1989, Baptist has invested almost $700 million into the community.
