Ole Miss is stocking up on offensive linemen in its 2019 recruiting class.
It continued Wednesday when the Rebels landed a commitment from Warren Easton (New Oreans) High lineman Caleb Etienne, who announced his decision with a post to his Twitter account. Etienne chose the Rebels over offers from Tennessee and Oregon State among others.
Etienne is a consensus three-star prospect ranked as the No. 29 guard prospect and the 24th-best recruit in Louisiana in the 247Sports.com composite ratings, though the 6-foot-6, 306-pounder could play guard or tackle at the next level. He’s the 20th commitment in Ole Miss’ class, six of which are offensive lineman. Five of them have committed within the last two weeks.
With center Sean Rawlings and guards Javon Patterson and Jordan Sims each entering their senior seasons, Ole Miss is set to lose four starters up front after next season assuming projected top-10 pick Greg Little declares early for the NFL Draft as expected. The Rebels also signed just one offensive lineman during last year’s recruiting cycle.
With Etienne’s commitment, Ole Miss’ class moved to 14th nationally and sixth in the SEC in the 247Sports composite.
