A.J. Finley is the latest to join Ole Miss’ 2019 recruiting class.

Finley, a running back/defensive back out of St. Paul’s Episcopal (Mobile, Alabama), became the 22nd commitment when he announced his verbal pledge with a post to his Twitter account. Finley was the second commitment of the day — Georgia offensive lineman Jeremy James committed hours earlier — and the third in the last two for the Rebels, whose class is ranked 14th nationally and seventh in the SEC in the 247Sports.com composite ratings.

A three-star prospect, Finley is ranked as the nation’s No. 81 running back and the 46th overall prospect in Alabama in the 247Sports composite, though the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder was recruited by Ole Miss to play safety. He’s the fourth safety in the class, joining Tupelo’s Tavario Standifer, Brandon’s Jay Stanley and Zachary (Louisiana) product Tyler Judson.
