Ole Miss lost one of its top recruits to another SEC school Thursday.
Forest High athlete Diwun Black flipped his commitment to Florida, announcing the decision with a video on GatorSports.com. Black, who visited Florida last week, had been committed to Ole Miss since April.
It’s the third class Black has been a part of during the recruiting process. Before giving his verbal pledge to Ole Miss, Black was committed to Mississippi State before Dan Mullen took the job at Florida.
Black, a consensus four-star prospect, was the second-highest ranked prospect in the Rebels’ 2019 class, which now has 26 commitments. The 6-foot-4, 219-pounder is ranked the nation’s No. 53 overall prospect and the No. 4 recruit in Mississippi in the 247Sports.com composite ratings.
He’s also rated the No. 3 inside linebacker prospect in the country, a position Black is projected to play at the next level. That leaves in-state prospects Eric Jeffries (Lafayette High) and Ashanti Cistrunk (Louisville High) as the Rebels’ lone linebacker commits.
