Mr. Billy Doyce King, 86, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi. The funeral service will be Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Derryberry officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Paris, Miss., Mr. King was the widower of Peggy Jean King and a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church.  He honorably served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from General Electric in 1992 after 44 years as a supervisor.  Affectionately known as “The Clock Man,” Mr. King enjoyed repairing, restoring and collecting old clocks.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn King of Water Valley, Miss.; a daughter, Brenda Marlene Powell of Collierville, Tenn.; a son, Doyce King and his wife, Alisa of Nesbit, Miss.; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in Mr. King’s memory may be made to Bay Springs Baptist Church, 21 CR 265, Abbeville, MS 38601.
