Julia Belle Mason, 14, passed away at her home in Olive Branch, Miss., on Sept. 1, 2018, after a long fight with cancer. Julia was a loving sister, loyal friend and beloved daughter.
She was a straight-A student at Center Hill Elementary and Middle schools. She loved art, her friends, her family and animals. She did not like the clichés that are often associated with cancer, but she was the strongest person we’ve ever known. A fighter to the very end.
She is survived by her parents Falton and Mary Mason, sister Elise, grandparents Falton Mason Jr. and Cornelia Mason, great-aunt Peggy Mason, her aunt and uncle Lucinda and Michael Mason, and cousins Tip Mason, Lawson Mason (Adam) and Haley Mason. She is also survived by her three cats Sophie, Marigold and Cricket.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until her memorial service begins at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
If you would like to honor her memory, the family asks that you donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or North Shore Animal League of America, two organizations close to Julia’s heart. The sky has lost a star.
