OPD arrests two for felony shoplifting at Walmart

Officers with the Oxford Police Department have arrested two people in connection with a Sept. 26 reported shoplifting at Walmart.
The store’s loss prevention officers stated that a male and female had pushed out approximately $1,459.28 worth of merchandise and were loading it into their vehicle, according to a statement from OPD. Officers arrived and came into contact with Jermaine Dowdy, 33, and Margaret Jefferson, 54, both of¬†Holly Springs, Miss.¬†before they could leave the parking lot.
Dowdy and Jefferson were arrested for felony shoplifting and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center. They were both given a bond of $2,500 by a Justice Court Judge.
