OPD arrests two for felony shoplifting at Walmart

Officers with the Oxford Police Department have arrested two people in connection with a Sept. 26 reported shoplifting at Walmart.
The store’s loss prevention officers stated that a male and female had pushed out approximately $1,459.28 worth of merchandise and were loading it into their vehicle, according to a statement from OPD. Officers arrived and came into contact with Jermaine Dowdy, 33, and Margaret Jefferson, 54, both of Holly Springs, Miss. before they could leave the parking lot.
Dowdy and Jefferson were arrested for felony shoplifting and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center. They were both given a bond of $2,500 by a Justice Court Judge.
