Ole Miss vs. Arkansas live updates, scores: Rebels mount second half comeback for first SEC win

For the first time since 2012 Ole Miss and Arkansas are set to play in Little Rock at War Memorial Stadium. The last time the two teams met, the Rebels escaped with a win off a late field goal.

The Rebel (4-2) are still searching for the first win in Southeastern Conference play after starting 0-2. Arkansas (1-5) is also hoping Saturday night brings them their first SEC win as they are sitting at 0-3.

The Razorbacks have won the last four games in the series. The previous three contests have been decided by a combined six points and included unique finishes.

FINAL: Ole Miss 37, Arkansas 33

Scottie Phillips scores from five yards out and the Rebels miss the extra point. Zedrick Woods then comes up with an interception to seal the comeback win.

Ole Miss comes up empty on a drive where they needed points. After Ta’amu was stopped short of the first down marker, Luke Logan missed a 28-yard field goal attempt wide right. Arkansas takes over at their 20. Arkansas 33, Ole Miss 24 13:47 4Q.

The Ole Miss holds Arkansas to a field goal for back-to-back drives to begin the second half. Lampart connects on a 36-yard field goal. Arkansas 33, Ole Miss 24 2:33 3Q.

The Rebel tight ends come up big once again. On 3 & 11, Octavious Cooley scores on a 66-yard catch. Cooley avoided a tackle then showed some speed to get away from Razorback defenders. Arkansas 30, Ole Miss 24 7:29 3Q.

Arkansas starts the second half with the ball and eats up about 5:30 minutes off the clock. The Razorbacks cushion their lead with a 38-yard field goal by Limpert. Arkansas 30, Ole Miss 17 9:28 3Q.

HALFTIME: Arkansas 27, Ole Miss 17

Ole Miss keeps the game from getting away from them early with a key scoring drive. Ta’amu found DaMarkus Lodge for a 6-yard touchdown pass. That drive was vital with the Razorbacks getting the ball to start the second half. Arkansas 27, Ole Miss 17 :33 2Q.

Arkansas is stretching their lead out. Connor Limpert connects on a 38-yard field goal try. Ole Miss’ Qaadir Sheppard was flagged for an unsportsmanlike penalty that extended Arkansas’ drive. Arkansas 27, Ole Miss 10 2:28 2Q.

Elijah Moore gave Ole Miss good field position with a kickoff returned to the Rebels’ 40 yard-line. The Rebel drive stalls inside the Arkansas 30 and Luke Logan commences to miss a 45-yard field goal try. Arkansas 24, Ole Miss 10 7:03 2Q.

Arkansas loses starting quarterback Ty Storey to an injury but Cole Kelley comes in and produces another touchdown. Kelly hit La’Michael Pettway for a 39-yard touchdown pass. Storey was hung out to dry the previous play off an errant pass by Jared Cornelius on a trick play. Victor Evans delivered a big hit, knocking story out of the game. The offense provided a much-needed answer for Ole Miss. Ta’amu scores on an 18-yard quarterback draw. The Rebels also went back to the run game that drive and found success. Arkansas 17, Ole Miss 10 12:23 2Q.

Three plays later Boyd breaks through the first level and scores on a 69 yard run. Razorbacks have some breathing room now. Arkansas 17, Ole Miss 3 :31 1Q.

Ole Miss was in business at the Arkansas 35 yard-line but Ta’amu is the first quarterback to make a mistake. His pass intended for A.J. Brown in the end zone was picked off by Arkansas’ Ryan Pulley.

Arkansas marches 79 yards and takes their first lead of the game. It was another blown coverage as Cheyenne O’Grady was open to haul in the 39-yard touchdown catch. Prior to that score Boyd was having success on the ground and causing Rebel defender to miss tackles during the drive. Arkansas 10, Ole Miss 3 3:24 1Q.

Ole Miss is the first team to punt after Braylon Sanders is unable to haul in a catch on third down.

Arkansas answers with a score on their opening drive. Connor Limpert converts a 43-yard field goal attempt. The Razorbacks were set up by a 34-yard catch from running back Rakeem Boyd to put them inside Rebel territory. The defense held Arkansas to the field goal try. Ole Miss 3, Arkansas 3 7:41 1Q.
