Oxford man arrested for possession of a stolen firearm
The Oxford Police Department made an arrest last week for possession of a stolen firearm.
On Oct. 11 OPD arrested Jeremy Lovelace, 31, of Oxford, after receiving information regarding Lovelace being a suspect in a burglary.
Lovelace was located at his last known address and a gun was discovered that Lovelace stated belonged to him.
After officers ran the serial number on the gun, they discovered that the gun was stolen. Lovelace stated that he purchased the gun from another person.
Lovelace was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center and booked on one charge of possession of a stolen firearm and given a $5,000 bond by a Justice Court judge.
