Ole Miss vs. South Carolina live updates, scores: Rebels grab the first lead of the game in second half

Since 2009, Ole Miss and South Carolina have avoided each other. That changes on Saturday when the Gamecocks travel to Oxford.

Ole Miss (5-3, 1-3 SEC) is coming off their bye week and returned a few key players on defense from injury. The Rebels worked on themselves and ‘self-evaluated’ during the two weeks between games. The red zone woes on offense were examined during the break.

South Carolina (4-3, 3-3) is coming off their 27-24 win against Tennessee. They overcame a 12-point deficit in the second half for the victory.

The game is back to all-square. Ole Miss cashes in with their 2-minute offense producing their third touchdown inside the red zone. Scottie Phillips essentially scored twice on the drive. The first score was called back when a review showed his knee was down at the half yard-line before scoring. The next play Phillips scored. Ole Miss 27, South Carolina 27 :04

For the second time today Ole Miss finds the end zone once getting into the red zone. A 46-yard catch by A.J. Brown set up the Rebels inside South Carolina’s 20 yard-line.
