Obituary – Dan “Buddy” Crowder

Dan “Buddy” Crowder, 83, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12, 2019, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at 1 p.m. also at Coleman Funeral Home. Bro. Fish Robinson will officiate. Interment will at the Abbeville Cemetery in Abbeville, Mississippi. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Crowder was born in Lauderdale, Tennessee, and spent 35 years living in Abbeville. Mr. Crowder enjoyed fishing, antiquing, coin collecting, and was enchanted by treasure hunting.  

Mr. Crowder adored his late wife, Mrs. Dorothy Crowder. Mr. Crowder is survived by two daughters, Debra (Rodney) Evans and Karen (Ricky) Braggs both of Hernando, Mississippi; one son, Dan D. (Deborah) Crowder, III, of Brighton, Tennessee; four sisters, Alice Daniels, Leatha Nelson, Phyllis Mead all of Ripley, Tennessee, and Juanita Crowder of Tucson, Arizona; four brothers, Neil Crowder of Ripley, Harbert Crowder of Arlington, Tennessee, Jimmy Crowder of Oxford, Mississippi, and Bennie Crowder, of Millington, Tennessee. Mr. Crowder is also survived by eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Crowder was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Hankins Crowder; one daughter, Katherine Crowder; his parents, Dan D. Crowder, Sr. and Maggie B. Crowder; one sister, Sue Langley.
